Today Perxel marks a new technical milestone: Phúc Bùi, the lead engineer at Perxel, has received the Certified Developer badge from the TinaCMS team after a review that took just over a week.

The badge is part of the official TinaCMS Certified Developer programme. After building a website with TinaCMS and TinaCloud, the applicant emails the TinaCMS team answers about the project setup (Client ID, pull request workflow, branch preview configuration) and how they handle a few real failure cases. The team reviews them and issues the badge through Credly.

It is a personal credential, and it also reflects how Perxel works: every technology that goes into a service is tested on real projects, and checked for performance before it reaches a client.

It started with a real need: a 3-day trial on Growtrics

TinaCMS first entered Perxel's workflow on the Growtrics project, a creative marketing website for an EdTech startup in Singapore.

The site was handed straight to the client's in-house engineers, so the project didn't call for a heavy content management system. Perxel chose Next.js to build the interface quickly and keep real-world loading performance high.

Near handover there was time to spare, so Perxel tried adding a lean headless CMS that works naturally with Next.js without growing the codebase. The thinking was simple: even though the client could manage the code themselves, a visual editor would make the finished product more polished and easier to run over time.

Perxel read the docs, integrated TinaCMS and handed over the product in just 3 days. That combination opened a new path for later marketing websites.

Standardising the Next.js + TinaCMS stack with the Atlas Robotics test project

Next.js with TinaCMS looked like a good fit for marketing sites and campaign landing pages on a moderate budget: live preview for editors, with monthly running costs kept to a minimum. Perxel dug deeper to make the stack part of its standard process.

Atlas Robotics was built as a test project to check the model at a larger scale. With it, Perxel tried handling gigabytes of media, setting up a three-language site (English, Vietnamese, Chinese) and deploying on the Cloudflare Workers edge network (through OpenNext), with no dedicated server or database to pay for at this scale.

What this means for businesses and creative agencies

Next.js with TinaCMS balances performance, security and running cost for small and mid-size projects:

  • Fast loading and a smaller attack surface. The site is compiled to static pages, which keeps response times low and reduces the attack surface (no server code or database exposed on each request).
  • Minimal running cost. Content is stored as Git-backed files in the project repository, so there is no expensive hosting or monthly subscription to carry.
  • An editor that is just enough. The TinaCMS editor focuses on the content that needs editing, without clutter.

Closing

The TinaCMS Certified Developer badge reflects Perxel's technical delivery and the care it puts into its work. Perxel will keep working alongside designers and brands to turn design ideas into finished, optimised websites that are easy to run for years.
